My name is John Cocchi, and I’m a retired Lieutenant from the New York City Police Department. I spent more than 25 years on the job, and my last command was in the Counterterrorism Bureau. After years of serving in New York, my family and I made the decision to move to Charlotte in 2018 in search of a bigger home, great schools, a safe neighborhood, and a fresh start.
The Charlotte area gave us exactly what we were looking for. It offered space, opportunity, strong communities, and a better lifestyle for our family. That experience gave me a personal understanding of what it feels like to make a major move and want to get it right the first time.
